As of January 2026, the Dearness Allowance (DA) is 60% of Basic Pay. The Cabinet approved a 2% hike on April 18, 2026, raising DA from 58% to 60% effective January 1, 2026.
Since DA crossed 50%, HRA rates are at peak slab: 30% for X cities (Metro), 20% for Y cities (Urban), and 10% for Z cities (Rural) of Basic Pay.
TPT = Fixed TA + DA% on Fixed TA. Fixed TA varies by pay level: Level 1-2: 1350/900, Level 3-8: 3600/1800, Level 9+: 7200/3600 (Higher TPT cities vs Other places).
NPS (National Pension System) contribution is 10% of (Basic Pay + DA) for employees appointed on or after January 1, 2004. The government contributes 14% on top.
