📋 Government Exam Hindi Typing Rules

Different exams have different speed and accuracy requirements. This tool applies the real qualifying rules so your practice reflects the actual test. Always confirm against your exam's official notification, as rules can change each cycle.

How scores are calculated

Gross WPM = total keystrokes ÷ 5 ÷ minutes. Net WPM = Gross WPM − (total mistakes ÷ minutes). A full mistake (wrong/missing/extra word) counts as 1; a half mistake (minor character error) counts as 0.5. KDPH (Key Depressions Per Hour) = WPM × 5 × 60. Most exams qualify you on Net WPM, so accuracy matters as much as raw speed.

What typing speed is required for SSC CHSL Hindi?

30 WPM in Hindi (9,000 KDPH) for LDC/JSA, in 10 minutes, with about a 7% error limit for the general category.

What is the difference between Gross and Net WPM?

Gross WPM = keystrokes ÷ 5 ÷ minutes. Net WPM subtracts errors: Gross − (mistakes ÷ minutes). Exams qualify on Net WPM.

What is KDPH?

Key Depressions Per Hour — every keystroke counted over an hour. KDPH = WPM × 5 × 60, so 30 WPM = 9,000 KDPH.
